Description
Alexandria Blue Boy is a small fragment of history that grew into a legend. In 1847,
a local postage stamp was issued in the American city of Alexandria. Only one
known example survives today, preserved in its most valuable form, on the original
envelope with the letter. In the text of the correspondence, there is a request to burn
the letter after reading. It was never burned. That single decision saved the stamp
and turned Blue Boy into one of philately’s greatest rarities. Discover the coin inspired
by Alexandria Blue Boy and add it to the World’s Most Expensive Stamps collection.
